Ådalsbruk Musikkforening is coming to Das Center on July 28th, 12 PM! Founded in 1870 in the small Norwegian community of Ådalsbruk—originally as the company band of a local iron foundry—it is one of Norway’s oldest concert bands. Today, it has grown into a vibrant, dynamic ensemble with nearly 60 active musicians.
Under the direction of Christian Skarbø Tenfjord, the band combines musical excellence with a strong sense of community. They recently proved that they belong to the absolute top tier: As a regular participant in the Norwegian National Championships for wind bands, Ådalsbruk secured an impressive 5th place in the 1st Division in 2026—Norway’s second-highest competitive level.
While striving for top artistic quality, the band is equally known for its unique spirit of friendship and togetherness. Their motto “Spilleglede og fellesskap”—the joy of making music and a strong community—perfectly reflects the values that have united generations of musicians there for over 150 years.
